Our History

Hannas is a private family owned property development and civil infrastructure company with over 36 years of history.

Since 1988 we have delivered over $1 billion of civil infrastructure and construction work, winning multiple awards before expanding into property development in the early 2000’s.

1980’s

Hannas commenced its long history in the late 1980s as a small family business predominately specialising in demolition and excavation. 

1990’s

In the 1990s the business expanded its services and expertise in the civil construction industry and successfully completed civil works on landmark buildings such as the Chifley Tower and the AMP Centre in Sydney’s CBD, as well as commencing our long-term relationships with Shell & Caltex in Oil & Gas Infrastructure. 

2000’s

Hannas became a national leader in civil infrastructure projects. With a team of 130+ working for clients across the country including Australian Department of Defence, Sydney Airport, AJ Lucas and Transfield. Hannas also commenced diversifying its business with industrial and residential property developments. 

2010’s

In parallel to a strong civil business, Hannas increased its appetite for property development and construction, acquiring several large projects including Central Business Park Enfield,  Bluestone Industrial Estate and The Harrington Collection. Hannas constructed several industrial buildings within the Central Business Park development including Ausreo’s Greenacre facility, and successfully built two large scale luxury residential houses in Hunters Hill and Bellevue Hill.

2020 to TODAY

The early 2020’s saw the completion of Bluestone Industrial Estate, The Harrington Collection and Arc Lane Cove, winning several high profile international awards and cementing Hannas as a leading property developer in New South Wales. In 2021 Hannas completed its last civil infrastructure project to redirect the team to the delivery and construction management of property development projects. Hannas also acquired Rockwater Brookvale, Stream Northmead and Solus Industrial Byron Bay, the latter being the largest zoned industrial land parcel in the region. 2023 also saw Hannas partner with Ray White Capital to establish the RWC Hannas Industrial Real Estate Fund I (“IREF I”) reaching our target capital commitment. 

As we look to the future, Hannas is focussing on a strong pipeline of property development and construction projects, drawing from almost four decades of property and construction experience.
